New Items for Growing Needs
Hedgehogs Nursery is now stocking great new items for your growing needs to compliment our range of pots, we are now stocking the following:
Full sized Seed Trays – These are formed from 0.54mm thickness material and manufactured to provide optimum value and quality. They have a two level drainage system allowing for both overhead and sub-irrigation systems. Internal measurements 344x214x52mm
Half sized Seed Trays – Half Trays were originally designed to fit two into a full sized seed tray, but many growers use these trays without the support of any ‘outer’. They have two levels of drainage, and all edges are rolled down for improved comfort and safety when handling. These Half Seed Trays are very economical in which to grow many varieties of plants. Internal measurements 154x205mm
Propagator Lids – New are these slightly domed lids manufactured from 0.5mm thickness clear Apet material. These are designed to fit our Full Sized Seed Trays and Fantastically Economical. NEW are HALF SIZED PROPAGATOR LIDS which are manufactured to fit not only the Half Sized Seed Tray, but cell packs as well!! What a way to Grow!!
Self-Supporting Cell Packs – These are permanently linked pots in pressured formed units. You can fit two into a standard full sized seed tray (loosely) but in practice they do not need any support. Each pack has rolled down edges and two level drainage for overhead and sub irrigation. Cell packs are only stocked in black.
Cell Tray Inserts – These are thin walled inserts designed to fit British Standard trays that we stock. The inserts are only supplied in black and are manufactured to fit deep and flush to the top of our seed trays for easy soil filling. Each section is semi-separated and can be broken away at the point of sale.
Carry Trays for Small Pots – Having trouble transporting all those little pots around your greenhouse or garden? Try our carry trays designed to fit our 9cm, 10.5cm Round Pots and our 7cm and 9cm Square Pots. These are manufactured by Modiform
Plug Trays – Have lots of seeds to propagate? Try our multi celled plug trays in popular sizes. We have a NEW Introduction 104 plug cell tray ideal for all seeds. Need to plant more seeds – try our 240 cell plug tray that has 1689 cells per sq metre!! And then there is the 360 cell plug tray which as 2534 cells per sq metre!!
Hedgehogs Nursery has Bark, all kinds of Bark – composted Bark and Ornamental Bark. Bark in bags or loose, or in big builders bags. Bark is great for suppressing weeds. By adding about a 2 inch layer of either ornamental Bark or Composted Bark to that overgrown area, weeds can be suppressed – but don’t forget to put the weed control fabric down first, bark on top and watch the weeds go away!! Weed control fabrics will let water through but keep weeds away and by putting bark on top of the fabric it will created a neat wooded look. If you want to add plants – just cut a neat hole in the fabric, and plant replacing the bark to suppress the weeds. Buxus has been used for hundreds of years to create topiary masterpieces. A familiar sight in stately homes across the country. Also popular for creating small formal hedges. It has Evergreen dense leaves. It is slow growing and tolerant of shady, coastal areas and chalky soils. Will reach appx 180cm (6ft) in 10 Years if unpruned.
The are supplied 15-25cm tall and are pot grown. These can be planted all year round.
