Bark is great for suppressing weeds. By adding a 2 inch layer of either ornamental or composted bark to an overgrown area, weeds can be suppressed – but don’t forget to put the weed control fabric down first, bark on top and watch the weeds go away!! Weed control fabrics will let water through but keep weeds away bark on top of the fabric it creating a neat wooded look. If you want to add plants – just cut a neat hole in the fabric, and plant replacing the bark to keep the weeds at bay.
